Favorite?
Who is your favorite band, & why?
Mine's Skillet, & has been for the last 10 years. I love their music because no matter how awful I'm feeling, or how angry I might get, their music is always encouraging & uplifting. I feel like I can let my emotions out, but that someone else has been through it & offers hope.
Also, they have two girls in the band, which is just awesome.

Skillet... for all of the reasons stated above AND they use orchestration in some of their songs.

Re: Favorite?
Skillet. Their music has changed my life. My dream is to someday get the chance to tell John Cooper my story. Seriously, I'm almost tearing up thinking about it. Epic music, epic lyrics. Everything about Skillet is perfect. I love the way they're real people who actually care...
My other favorite bands are Flyleaf, Children 18:3, RED, Group 1 Crew, Thousand Foot Krutch, Family Force 5, And Then There Were None, and The Letter Black. Along with John Cooper, Lacey (from Flyleaf) is my hero.

1. Skillet
2. Fireflight
3. Nightwish
4. The Letter Black
5. RED
Receiving votes: Epica, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Newsboys, Decyfer Down
Skillet will lose their #1 rating if two or more of the following occur:
- Their next CD is more pop than rock (again)
- Skillet retires/breaks up
- Nightwish's next CD (due late 2011) blows Skillet's next CD to the belt of Orion.
- Fireflight's next CD blows Skillet's next CD to atom particles.
- Skillet does another song in the vein of "Should've When You Could've"
- I somehow wind up at a Nightwish concert and decide that they're better live than Skillet.
Skillet will keep their #1 rating if any one of these three happen:
- Their next CD is more rock than pop
- Fireflight's next CD fails to increase on expectations set with their last two CD's (Unbreakable, For Those Who Wait)
- Nightwish's next CD stinks (unlikely given their track record)

Re: Favorite?
Skillet currently holds my number one spot, mostly because of Collide and their live performances. However, there are some other bands sneaking up on them. Anberlin and Thousand Foot Krutch are two and three. Other than that, I'm really not sure. It varies according to whatever mood I'm in.

Re: Favorite?
I do not care for Dawn's voice. Fireflight overall are too radio rock for my tastes. And DPP already murders everything Skillet's done...and Once is better than all but Collide.
And based solely on special effects, the Tuomas Holopainen Project blows every band out of the water...except like, Metallica, who bring enough pyro to burn rhode island to a crisp...

Re: Favorite?
Never Alone was the first song I learned to play on drums. I don't know alot of Barlowgirl songs, but I LOVE their message, to girls especially.

Skillet, Flyleaf, The Letter Black, Paramore, and Thousand Foot Krutch
I enjoy Skillet, Flyleaf, The Letter Black, and TFK because they're not only super talented, they also send a strong Christian message with their music. Especially Skillet, It's weird how all my life I've lived in a somewhat religious family but it wasn't until I started listening to Skillet that I began to build a strong relationship with God. Alot of my friends say that Flyleaf is just an emo band and not Christian, I personally think these friends of mine are kinda loopy. As for Paramore? Hayley Williams is just an amazing vocalist!
There are a few bands I've been starting to listen to alot more than usual such as: BarlowGirl, Fireflight, Decyfer Down, Disciple, The Spark, and FM Static

^Heyyyy props for listening to The Spark! They go to my church, & they are such awesome people who are totally gifted to write anointed worship songs.

Re: Favorite?
That's actually a funny story because I was on twitter and was going to click to Ben Kasica's twitter page and accidently clicked the link he posted to their myspace. I decided since I was there I might as well check them out.
In other words: That was one of the best miss-clicks ever.

That's awesome. The Spark has written some of the best worship songs I've ever heard. I can't wait for their live album.

Re: Favorite?
Yeah, you know a band is good when you bike to the mall just to buy an itunes gift card just to buy their songs because you don't want to wait for your parents to get home from work in 2 hours with a credit card to buy music with.
Re: Favorite?
Haha that's awesome! I will tell them about that, Christ will appreciate it.
